Why? Who is this meant to be good for? Nobody wants your shit AI books, never mind 8,000 in a year. Just a terrible idea and a horrible road the publishing industry is heading down.

Dear writer friends, I am in the process of preparing a video with previews of fantasy and scifi books coming out in 2025. Don't be shy, tell me about your projects and send me details by responding to this post, via DM or from the contact page of my website! And if you can, please share this post!

Optimist: The cup is half full

Pessimist: The cup is half empty

Writer: …did I have a plan for this cup? Was it supposed to link to some other part of the plot? Crap. I really don’t want to go through and take every mention of the cup out. Maybe I can kill someone with it.
Optimist: The cup is half full

Pessimist: The cup is half empty

Agent: The cup isn’t a good fit for my list

Pessimist: The cup is half empty

Editor: The cup feels unearned

I finally managed to get my house clean(nearly!) with all the laundry put away, most of kiddo's toys back in the proper places and all the crap accumulating on the dining table sorted and put away. I feel really happy looking at how nice it looks knowing it won't last 24 hours like this 😮‍💨

whenever a man says “childless women contribute nothing to society,” the ghost of the famously unmarried Jane Austen rises and says, “you are such a disagreeable man that it would be quite a misfortune to be liked by you.”

To my fellow writers, especially the aspiring authors - what are you writing or working on right now?

I'm working on a Desi Cyberpunk trilogy with Brown, Muslim MCs. One of them is an ace, morally grey anti-hero and the other is a murder victim resurrected in the wrong body, riches to rags style.

A number of artists and creators have made their home on Bluesky, and we hear their concerns with other platforms training on their data. We do not use any of your content to train generative AI, and have no intention of doing so.

As an author, I cannot stress this enough. And as a reader, I see this as an investment in my own reading future...if I love something I want more from that author! And publishers will only give authors new deals if people buy the book!
Because it's always worth repeating - if you've enjoyed a book, tell your friends about it, shout about it (reviewing and ratings help as well). Word of mouth is more significant than you think, especially for indie/small press authors, whose sales are often low to begin with.
