If you’re a scientist with even a little bit of experience talking about your science to the public, I’d encourage you to sign up to do one of these. I can help. 🧪🌎🦑
Our goal is to have 1000 SUFS Teach Ins across the US, by 9/30.

*GASP* 😮

We know, it's a big goal.

If you've received tax dollars for your science, you have a responsibility to inform *your* community what is at stake: public health, the economy, innovation, and America's global leadership.

I wrote about Irish poet Paul Durcan, who just died at the age of 80. I love him - his "Tullynoe: Tete-a-Tete in the Parish Priest’s Parlour" is ... well there's nothing else like it, is there. I linked to a beautiful 2024 piece by Colm Tóibín. www.sheilaomalley.com?p=199441

Over the past 20 years, Paris has undergone a major physical transformation, trading automotive arteries for bike lanes, adding green spaces and eliminating 50,000 parking spaces.

Part of the payoff has been invisible — in the air itself.
Paris said au revoir to cars. Air pollution maps reveal a dramatic change.
Air pollution fell substantially as the city restricted car traffic and made way for parks and bike lanes.

For experienced postdoctoral researchers with a strong track record interested in pursuing an independent research project in my group - focussing on mapping Ireland’s energy transition and delivering carbon budgets - this is a good opportunity to apply for funding from SEAI. Please do get in touch.
The call is now open for applications to an #SEAI ENERGISE Fellowship Programme. This programme provides opportunities for postdoctoral or experienced researchers to apply for research fellowship awards.

The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific.

If you know anyone who is impacted, please help them get online to get their benefits approved
