Browsing the NWSL vacancies, what job lures you away from UCLA?

Margueritte Aozasa wouldn't give up that job security for just any NWSL job. Perhaps the recent vacancy across the state from where she won the Big Ten title last season? Unless Bay is ready to be serious...

Fox announces that it will put 69 of next year's men's World Cup games on the big network and 35 on FS1.

That is a record for free-to-air games both by quantity (obviously, with an expanded tournament) and percentage - 66%.

Fox will also put the draw on the broadcast network in December.

NEW: A Sinclair spokesperson tells me they will NOT be airing "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on their ABC affiliates, even though Kimmel is returning to the network tomorrow.

"Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return."

Local news will air instead.

Man... this just makes it so obvious and embarrassing. They really think this will all work and they will make the team good and bunch of new fans with the World Cup. Sports executives are vastly over estimating the "boost" of the US World Cup. #DCU -T
They get asked about "You've got World Cup matches coming up here" (they don't, DC is not a host city) and "what can fans expect with the whole world having their eyes on this stadium" (again the WC is not coming here)

and Levien gives some long answer about "soccer fever coming to america"

We've entered a new era where local TV news is no longer a public service, despite the affirmations of broadcast executives.

Local news is a bargaining chip to effectuate desirable business deals, and journalists are only as valuable as the ratings and ad dollars they bring in.

So this dropped at midnight on a Friday? Taking the NWSL Friday night news dump to a new level.
New from NC Courage on Sean Nahas: “The termination stemmed from a combination of compounding performance issues, culture issues, and a perceived lack of fit that created an environment that club leadership felt was untenable to the point that change was necessary at the head coaching position.”

The press conference also started with a comment that their priority was the game tomorrow and not the abrupt head coaching change they made without warning.

This call has been pretty needlessly combative, for a club that specifically added their sporting director to the press conference.
Comms at this point is answering more questions than Bowley himself, to say they won’t be answering further questions about internal processes leading to Nahas’s firing.

Nor tactical approach to the game, actually.
NC Courage sporting director Ceri Bowley has cited "a multitude of factors" for Sean Nahas' dismissal at least 4 times, but has thus far declined to delve further into what caused the move.

Courage comms has now added that the club is "not discussing an internal process." #NWSL
