Chatted with Drew about 7 years or so on twitter.
Standard liberal-centerist tho more conservative on foreign issues. If I remember correctly he was Australian.
In the 2 years or so since Elon came in he's been completely radicalised & infantalised.

Regarding the BBC clickbait article on "the premier League table without set piece goals".
A reminder this only makes sense if you exclude goals like Zubimendi's volley or indeed goals like Eze's goal against Palace - that is goals that aren't, in fact, set pieces.

This kind of clipping makes me wistful for more innocent times when everyone could chuckle at this absolutely 100% sure in the knowledge that it was both:
1. Meant as a joke
2. Never going to happen

If the Tories are at 21% (charitable given recent polling) then the old non-fruitcake tendency of the remaining Conservatives is less than 7%.
This simply isn't enough to build a coalition from.
Its a Labour versus Reform election with the LibDems to peel the remaining old centre right Tories off.

July 2026
Option 1
Pay £10 000 to fly to US & see 8 WC games.
Option 2
Pay £2000
Stay at home, wake up late, watch the cricket at ground during the day, go to a nice restaurant &/or a play every other day, watch the games live on TV due to time difference mainly after 10pm.
No comparison really.

While every country needs some sort of immigration control system....this is where Farage crosses the line from "stop the boats" populism to something more sinister.
They'll be many people hearing this, not as being tougher on "illegal" immigrants, but, rather as a policy to rid UK of brown people.

Such a stupid, lazy take.
Liverpool didn’t figure out a way to win the game.
They got lucky as a cross hit a Burnley player on the arm 3 minutes into stoppage time.
Is Leon Osman really saying they played for this?

The decline of the Tories is a bad thing for UK. Whatever their faults their traditions/history of deference constitutionalism provided a firewall to the more ugly right wing impulses.
Perhaps tho that demographic no longer exists anyway.
The old CofE/grandee Tory base may simply have died out.

I like the odd Athletic Podcast.
But this does feel a bit “scraping the barrel - run out of ideas”.
Particularly as if they do beat Arsenal this weekend we are likely to get the inevitable “can anyone stop Liverpool from winning the league this season?” podcast.
