Depressing watching people with otherwise *sound* liberal ideas splash around in the "well maybe BBC not that much cop anyway" waters.
At this rate we'll be losing the BBC, fair elections, Judicial independence & lord knows what else at this rate in next 10 years if Liberals just accept everything.

Revealing division in my timeline between (1) my insider friends who have lived privileged lives who are very keen that we defend the BBC and think it's important it survives and (2) my outsider friends who feel (at best) ambivalent about the BBC's survival.

Joe Marler started off #CelebrityTraitors as the quiet, less clever working class one among a sea of thespians.
But episode by episode it became clearer he was the smartest guy in the game.
Then he lost, let down by others & beaten by the smoothness of the wonderful national treasure - Alan Carr.

I think quite a lot of people who havent been following the media and Trump in the US are unprepared with what could follow.
It is quite plausible that Trump sues the BBC - or threatens to in order extract concessions.

Over the last 6 games Arsenal have added:
1 point to their lead over city
4 points to their lead over Chelsea
5 points to their lead over Man Utd
8 points to thier lead over Spurs
...and turned a 5 point defecit into a 8 point lead over Liverpool.
I'll take that.

Arsenal dont score goals from throw-ins.
They score quite a few from corners/free kicks.
Arsenal dont do that many long throws into the box & when they do they dont do long run-ups.
Sam Drury has seen the stats on set plays & just churned out lazy nonsense.

This is why people are switching to podcasts and away from mainstream sports oulets like BBC/TalkSport.
One has analysis the other provides lazy comment about Arsenal throw-ins culture (without bothering to check that Arsenal havent scored any throw ins this season).

Sunderland are 4th.
This means that an away game against them is the 3rd hardest game of the seaon so far.
Shouldn't we consider this a point won rather than 2 points lost.

But im assuming that he comes from a well off family because the idea there isnt an affordable housing crisis now in UK compared with much of 1960-2000 is deeply deeply unreal if not otherwordly.

Awful lot of people seem to think houses used to fall off trees, jobs were well paid and lovely, people were lovely to each other, and everyone could afford holidays every day.
Of course life isn't perfect now. But it never was. And in many ways it is much better.

Strange how few seem to ask the (to me) obvious question.
Imagine UK didn't fight Germany in 1939.
How would today's UK be different?
I'll tell you.
Worse.
As we'd have had to fight Germany a few years later when it was stronger & with nuclear weapons as it eventually got round to attacking UK.

My Grandma (born 1920) collected postcards, prior to 1960s all sent from UK).
Not just those sent to her but also ones from abroad sent to other people.
At time of her death in early 80s the collection must have been upwards of 1000.
Never forgiven relative who threw them out.

One of the reasons I no longer play fantasy football is this.
Im sure Steve has expertly chosen a good team for points, but a formation which includes 7 forwards & one midfielder doesnt make any kind of sense in actual football terms this side of the 1920s.

Rolling the transfer this week, despite the overwhelming urge to get Gabriel.
Last seasons Steve would have taken the -8 required to get him
This seasons Steve rolled
I'll probably take the -4 next week though, not sure I can face any more price rises

I dont think MTG is as big a fool as she 1st came across.
Ive been following her closely. She hasnt changed much politically but if you look at the timing its the Epstein thing that really accelerated things it completely changed her trust in Trump.
I suspect she not alone.
