OK I'll say it:
When tiny 2 bed workers' terrace homes in Forest Gate well for 600k..

..then theres no way any normal Londoner will be able to buy even the basic of crap homes in 10 years time.
At which point owner occupation will collapse.
London will become a transient city of short term workers.
In 2002 I bought a pretty much identical house to this in Forest Gate for 150k It needed ~100k of work to replace the floors, electrics, plumbing, kitchen, bathroom etc, but still. Could only afford it because I was a Finance Manager for JPMorgan FFS. Now? £600k+

New DNA/Research shows Hitler had Kallmann syndrome as well as “right-sided cryptorchidism”—that is, an undescended testicle.

It turns out that the war time song “Hitler Has Only Got One Ball” was amazingly correct after all.

Anyone - & that includes the BBC - pushing rumours Myles Lewis-Skelly is leaving Arsenal in upcoming transfer window are inventing nonsense for clicks.

Myles is 19 & his contract with Arsenal runs to June 2030.

Unless some club offers over 100 million he is not going anywhere.

Reminder that despite the red poppy icon the Daily Telegraph is not your (& my) grandparents' Telegraph.

When visiting grandparents in the 90s for Sunday roast we use to do the crossword and read the excellent Sports & foreign news pages.

That paper died at least a decade ago.

Today's #Housegawp is brought to you by the extremely overwhelming thought: "what if I just walked away from this all and bought a church and spent the rest of my days looking out at my graveyard and not having 'performance reviews' that make me feel like a worm"

There can never be a 2 state solution as after what Israel has done over the years means Israelis will never be able to trust Palestinians.

As theres no peaceful prospect for a 2 state solution there'll be violent resistance.

Which will confirm to Israelis there can never be a 2 state solution.

Its been clear to anyone rational for years now.

Dating Apps while superficially empowering women (as they have swipe power) encourages the top 5% of men to *game play* dating (apps) which effectively destroyed the dating culture in most western countries.

A backlash against dating culture and apps accelerated with Trump’s re-election, as many opted for self-sufficiency, fostering friendships and protesting against misogyny

Of all the current debates this is one the silliest.

How will #boysober change the west?
Easy.

It will dramatically increase the child gap btwn feminist (& presumably majority liberal) women and conservative and/or religious women.

This isnt going to lead to a more liberal, feminist society.
Fascinating to watch the rise of “boysober” ✊🏼

A prediction @jonathanliew.bsky.social

In 2026 Bayern Munich will buy Trent for 50-60million.

Real Madrid will be happy as after wages they'll have made millions in profit.
Bayern will be happy as they'll have best Full Back in Bundesliga on the cheap.

The great irony of this latest trend in feminism is that its essentially suicidal.

It may be feminism but if the people who are having children are religious and/or conservative then this form of feminism will effectively kill itself.

Depressing watching people with otherwise *sound* liberal ideas splash around in the "well maybe BBC not that much cop anyway" waters.

At this rate we'll be losing the BBC, fair elections, Judicial independence & lord knows what else at this rate in next 10 years if Liberals just accept everything.
Revealing division in my timeline between (1) my insider friends who have lived privileged lives who are very keen that we defend the BBC and think it's important it survives and (2) my outsider friends who feel (at best) ambivalent about the BBC's survival.

I think quite a lot of people who havent been following the media and Trump in the US are unprepared with what could follow.

It is quite plausible that Trump sues the BBC - or threatens to in order extract concessions.

Over the last 6 games Arsenal have added:

1 point to their lead over city
4 points to their lead over Chelsea
5 points to their lead over Man Utd
8 points to thier lead over Spurs

...and turned a 5 point defecit into a 8 point lead over Liverpool.

I'll take that.

Arsenal dont score goals from throw-ins.
They score quite a few from corners/free kicks.
Arsenal dont do that many long throws into the box & when they do they dont do long run-ups.

Sam Drury has seen the stats on set plays & just churned out lazy nonsense.

This is why people are switching to podcasts and away from mainstream sports oulets like BBC/TalkSport.

One has analysis the other provides lazy comment about Arsenal throw-ins culture (without bothering to check that Arsenal havent scored any throw ins this season).

Sunderland are 4th.
This means that an away game against them is the 3rd hardest game of the seaon so far.

Shouldn't we consider this a point won rather than 2 points lost.
