Farage votes against women’s rights, fair pay, secure jobs, while blaming the powerless and taking cash from overseas billionaires. Division serves the rich, not us. What we need: fairness, solidarity, equality. Also… one tomato, on a flag‑neutral tea towel. 🍅

Sometimes people’s humour and kindness bursts through the clouds of what’s going on. A dog walk in Wapping is all it took to remind me of our capacity to properly belly laugh with strangers. To see people hanging over walls to fuss a stray cat. The connections, the glints of mischief. ❤️London

This week GSK. a British Pharma announced they’ve dropped their DE&I targets. Shame on them. I’d boycott, but I think they sold off all their consumer brands.

Years ago, I watched Shoah, a 9 hr film, examining the Holocaust through interviews with survivors, perpetrators, and bystanders. How ordinary people coexisted with such horrors, exploring their justifications and inactions. A mix of ideology, fear, and opportunism. m.imdb.com/title/tt0090...

The @Telegraph, @thetimes, @MailOnline & @TheSun publish corrections to their scaremongering on undocumented migrants in London.

Imagine between them the reach & power of these papers.
The fact is they are using that power to instil Trumpist hate & we are ill-equipped to resist.

Update.

The Telegraph has now corrected its entirely fabricated claim that 1 in 12 Londoners is an "illegal migrant" and has accepted that this claim was false in *four" separate respects.

However, this has not resolved my complaint to IPSO - I will continue to request a front-page correction.

If a man can’t give a Nazi salute at a party for a racist convicted fraudster and proven sex offender, then what kind of sick world are we living in, I ask you.

After ditching Twitter last year, I’ve just left Facebook. They had the opportunity to do much good but threw it away. I hope I find my people on here. A bit quiet so far but thank you for the for the little glimmers of connection.

This year’s cacophony of clinks and crashes as the recycling lorry came round was as impressive, and cringey as ever. I pictured someone else dashing in their dressing gown, after my husband (wearing my flip-flops), just in time to catch the moment of quiet before a final, thunderous smash.
