Tim Davie resigning over this is kind of mad, there have been far worse BBC scandals over the last few years. Feels a bit like an overreaction, and probably just proof that the BBC is more scared of criticism from the right than it is from the left, but they will never be able to capitulate enough.

I enjoy reading Thomas Bernhard because it reminds me I’m not actually a misanthrope and like most people.
At least compared to him.

Can’t quite get over Ronay comparing the police cordoning off pro-Israel protesters to a Concentration Camp.

The sad fact is that Traitors finales are invariably the worst episodes because ‘the endgame’ is crap compared to the regular round tables.

A combination of Zohran enthusiasm and reading a book about Red Vienna has me thinking about local government. If Your Party get their act together their short-term focus should be on City Councils and Mayors, not Westminster.

The John Lewis ad is maudlin, mawkish manipulative nonsense you say?

Really dislike this new paradigm where as soon as any crime happens we have a rush to know the nationality/race of the suspects in case it causes a riot.
And the accompanying palpable disappointment from the right when it is a Brit.

The reveal in Captain America #4 that the US Government backed Doctor Doom's coup of Latveria is kind of brilliant.

In this thread I will detail the films I see as part of Leeds International Film Festival, starting tonight with the opening film which is about an opening night, Richard Linklater's 'Blue Moon'. An excellent film about creativity on the wane anchored by an amazing central performance by Ethan Hawke

Also very much enjoying 'The Glass Pearls', Emeric Pressburger's second novel. A really fascinating little thriller about a Nazi hiding out in 1960s London. How it was never made into a movie is beyond me.
Also, why is Pressburger's first novel OOP? Someone help me find 'Killing a Mouse on Sunday'!
