Some of our most precarious members, tutors and demonstrators on 'guaranteed hours' contracts, have had their work hours cut or disappeared entirely in management's cost cutting spree. All the money paid to Nous could have gone to them.

Of course she has won. Of course they were wrong. And at a time when other Scottish Universities were calling for an immediate ceasefire. They could have just picked up the phone to their colleagues. This is not hard. And then there is international law too.

In the UK, there is still no law that stops trans people from using the toilets that match their gender. That includes after the UK Supreme Court ruling on 16 April 2025, which the usual suspects are already trying to twist into a bathroom ban.

On Sunday we revealed more than 400 University staff have higher pay than Scotland's First Minister. They include Edinburgh principal Peter Mathieson who earns £380k. Today he announced 350 staff had taken voluntary redundancy with further cuts feared. bit.ly/3GAClEc
