I never realised why using dark apps was so damn difficult until I got an eye test confirming astigmatism. Just figured everyone saw glowing halos at night.

Light mode is an accessibility consideration, like dark mode and high contrast mode and other modes.
Incidentally Spotify laid off their core accessibility team this time last year.
Tech companies have laid off a lot of accessibility teams like this, in similar cutbacks to those happening for DEI.

I feel like BlueSky doesn’t have many product focussed folks - it’s surely obvious not to make a completely new way of sorting replies the *default* when people are here specifically to avoid the rage baiting engagement farming of X.
