my theory why tech bros have gone insane is that tech optimism was their fuel for awhile. that began to fade as the future was looking less utopian and was obviously always about getting infinite money. when the public began to turn on big tech, tech turned to reactionary ideology to fill the void

The OpenAI vs Anthropic ads saga is the most human thing that’s ever happened to the AI world, hence it’s so interesting and polarising.

Sama really needs to take overtime crisis communications classes because this is definitely not the way to handle it my guy

Unreal numbers, at this point you can’t blame the markets for their skepticism

Boris Cherny often gets recognized in public. At the bar, at the airport, in generally any public space, people want to take selfies with Claude Code's creator.

Since the holidays, Claude has gone viral across sectors. Can Anthropic prolong the hype with Opus 4.6? www.theverge.com/report/87430...
Claude has been having a moment — can it keep it up?

I've been alive 31 years and I've never felt so overwhelmed by conspiracy theories, AI hype, messy world order between Epst files and trump. More than ever the only choice is the analogue and the deep (relationship, craft, real hobbies). Slowpa as Prof G calls it, Deep Life is necessary to thrive.

That’s okay but kinda underwhelming, this is the mother of all catchups and nothing more. The true game changer will be the personalized/contextual Siri populating the OS and not just a chatbot.
Apple is turning Siri into an AI bot that’s more like ChatGPT

To me now Bluesky feels like the OG twitter, whenever I open this app I just see the stuff I follow and like, the people I interact with, admire and want to read.

Really stoked that this app is growing and is being populated by smart and brilliant people.

X is, as we all know, a literal hellhole.

I can't stop thinking about the fact that the Gemini stuff showcased at the Android Show are just how Apple wanted the new Siri with AI to be (and convince people about it), lol

And who knows what's more to come at I/O

Pixel 6a's are starting to catch fire again (some of them) because of poor heat dissipation, the Pixel a lineup just can't seem to catch a break battery wise

The Decoder podcast by @reckless.bsky.social with @gruber.foo was excellent, really compelling stuff about the state of Apple and its future.

Between AI, the EU, the court rulings and the relationship with developers they're really walking a tight rope at the moment
