Hmm…
Look bringing back polio sounds bad. But it’s a small price to pay to get rid of pronouns in email signatures and black women in star wars.

The handwringing lectures about how the left has no choice but to stay on Twitter are even more ridiculous when you remember that the far right used a series of alternative media — from direct mail to talk radio to Fox News to Breitbart to Gab, Parler and Truth Social — as their path to victory.

This….👇🏽
A lot of people think everything will work out if we just play by the rules but don’t seem to recognize that rules only matter when everyone agrees to follow them and, well, that isn’t our present reality.

Here’s the reality.

No USAtty would have charged this case given the underlying facts. After a 5 year investigation the facts as discovered only made that clear

Had his name been Joe Smith the resolution would have been - fundamentally and more fairly - a declination

Pardon warranted

Appreciate this may not be a universally popular opinion but the less you treat BlueSky as a crusade or cause, and the more you position it as simply a superior user experience with a better governance approach, the more sustainable the growth will be.

Great Thread…
One thing I think people talking about the threat of authoritarian creep have gotten, if not exactly wrong, not quite right either is to frame discussion in terms of various European precedents.

Those are relevant to be sure, but we also have an American precedent - namely the South before 1965.

Out of every national election some institutions decay and die, while others emerge and grow stronger. Legacy media is a sad example of the former. Bluesky is a hopeful example of the latter.

There are only two types of Republicans in Congress: Proud MAGA and scared MAGA.

House GOP= 90% proud MAGA, 10% scared MAGA.
Senate GOP= 90% scared MAGA, 10% proud MAGA.

All MAGA still the same - which is why Trump knows the GOP Senate will confirm whoever he sends.

Those high birth rates were meant to compensate for high rates of infant mortality — even in 1930s Britain, about 1 in 10 children died before 5.

That said, I guess RFK Jr will return us to that glorious pre-vaccine age, and finally Elon’s obsession with birth rates will make sense
The absurdity of this soon-to-be-trillionaire telling America it needs to fearlessly pop out babies.

What's his govt efficiency plan to make it possible for one parent to stay home in the traditional manner he fantasizes about? I'm sure he has nannies raising his dozen-plus spawn.
