People lament the lack of traditional culture nowadays. Media is disposable and vacuous, everything is just remixing old things, there is nothing new.
And like, I get that. But I also see the modern era as the era of scrapbooking. Pulling out images, memes and archetypes and reinterpreting them.

I’m also not saying that this technology shouldn’t be in the public domain.
What I am saying is that the strategies I’ve witnessed over the past several years by certain individuals, along with their ideologies, have led me to believe that this is not about transparency for them.

I think that the dysfunction of our current age (around social cohesion, failing bureaucracies, loss of power felt by the individual) are a kind of memetic bottleneck/great filter for us as a species right now. The implications of this century will be felt for the next few hundred imo.

Been spending thanksgiving at my Nigerian gf’s house. The vibe of people living in the, well, living room and kitchen with a stream of local music videos going on the TV is a lovely communal vibe. Reminds me of the balkan households I spent time in growing up.

(1/2) Anyone know of any authors/thinkers in our greater community ( #ufosky + #bluepsi ) that have begun to try and formally outline how psi phenomena practically works and what the implications are?

I don’t really get how people see UFOs when they’re out walking their dog. I love my Penny but I have to keep an eye on her at all times lest she fights a garden gnome, gets spooked by an e-bike or tries to eat a lawn pesticide sign.
