I mean, look, I'm not a reporter, so who am I to talk?

But on a day where the president both just called a woman reporter "Piggy" and is celebrating someone who had people bone saw apart one of my colleagues, I might just be a little ready to defend my colleagues and profession.

But that's just me

Sidenote: Did you know that the NACC employs over 200 people, spends over $50m per year, has 5 offices, and in over two years of operations hasn't landed a single major corruption finding?

So turns out it's not a $400m deal Australia has done with Nauru - it's a $2.5 billion over the next 30 years 🤯

Big revelation at snap senate inquiry hearing asking the Dept of Home Affairs about the Govt’s agreement with Nauru to send asylum seekers there.

Note about the racist marches yesterday (with actual Nazis!) and the conspicuous silence from the antisemitism alarmists: if the enemy of your enemy is a racist, and you have somehow concluded that that makes the racist your friend, congratulations you are a racist too.

This exemplifies all that is wrong with 'for profit' aged care.
Aged care 'veteran'??
I choked on my tea reading that.

Note that his firm Allity ran the Henry Kendall aged care (now closed) When audited it met only 11 of the 44 expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards.
Absolutely obscene

Segal has not said “she didn’t know about it”, as Immigration Minister Bourke falsely claimed last night.

It’s critical to remember she has released *only* this two-sentence statement. It’s a standard legal fudge, hoping others will draw false inferences. Segal is a lawyer. 2/2

Jillian Segal has said only that she’s had “no involvement” in “his donations” (husband). Crucially she hasn’t defined “involvement”, whether she knew about it/agreed with it — or even if “his donations” includes the Advance $50k from her family trust…1/2 www.abc.net.au/news/2025-07...
'Believe her': Burke backs Segal's denial of knowledge about Advance donation
Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke says he believes Australia's antisemitic envoy when she says she had no knowledge of donations made by a trust linked to her husband to right wing lobby group Advance.

Compelling and appalling all at once. Albrechtson’s knowledge all the way back to 2005 makes her recent utterances all the more obscene. What must her daughters think of her advocacy for such a man?

The former High Court judge Dyson Heydon is being rehabilitated in some parts of the legal profession. It’s galling.

Posting this here because hardly any mainstream media outlets will publish it. An ongoing genocide silenced.

No baby formula has entered Gaza for four months because of Israel’s genocidal blockades. There is nothing left to feed babies and their mothers can not produce milk as they themselves are starving. There is no defending what Israel is doing. No justification.

Politics is always about the numbers. Splitting the Coalition by Littleproud is to do with the numbers. IOW, dividing the LNP in Queensland to apply pressure on the Liberals to force a leadership spill, which his (and Gina's) preferred candidate Angus Taylor will win. The end.
