Arctic comes from the Greek “arktikos,” meaning “the bear.” Most likely they were referring to the Great and Little Bear constellations in the northern sky. Antarctic literally means “opposite the bear” because those same constellations aren’t visible in the south.

Pretty much all on the inflation in December was due to the rise in costs of international and domestic holiday travel and accomodation. Take that away and inflation in the month was 0.0%
