In my original reply to Dale, I noted that he was wearing a thin jersey t-shirt, which revealed the outline of his nipple (a well-known erogenous zone, even for men). The t-shirt, of course, was once considered underwear.

Lewis points out something interesting here: modesty has to be understood within the matter of context. A woman in the Pacific Islands, he notes, can be modest while wearing barely any clothes, while a Victorian woman will have different standards for the same idea.

Regarding behavior, there's a chapter on sexual morality that begins with one of the least popular Christian virtues: modesty. Here's what CS Lewis had to say:

Let's first visit the excerpts.

Adapted from a series of BBC radio talks he delivered during the last few years of the Second World War, CS Lewis's Mere Christianity (1952) touches on some big topics — the meaning of the universe, Christians beliefs, and what is considered proper Christian behavior

A friend who teaches theology shared with me a post about CS Lewis's Mere Christianity, which discusses foundational Christian logic across denominations. It reminded me of Dale's tweet below, and I wanted to share some thoughts here regarding modesty and respectability, which are often hot topics.

Elon Musk donated $277 million to Trump so he could steal the federal government’s data, dismantle the nation’s infrastructure, and stop foreign aid from going to nonwhite people. It’s a quid pro quo breathtaking in scope, corruption, and damage, & completely unprecedented in American history.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

My most alienating Oscar opinion of the year is that Wicked pt deux is not a sequel but the simultaneously shot second half of one movie and that therefore it'd be weird to renominate the two stars. This isn't the Emmys; you don't get rewarded for the same role year after year. Will delete shortly.

It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

I've deleted my post about how I talk about my book Vs how my publishers talk about it because

a) people thought that was a genuine blurb, FFS

b) people told me to stop whining about having a publisher

c) people told me to get better at promo

I have no idea why my post got people so mad

…if you mean “build the product” then you’re not building a company.
