i mean really it isn't. i feel like most people working on this stuff don't think it will sell, primarily because mainaining long-format structure is computationally shitty even with, e.g., Flash Attention. people are right to be worried but primarily about executive morons buying magic beans.
This is the whole point of AI. It’s not to actually replace humans. It’s to change your title from “head writer” to “assistant AI technician,” not credit you, and pay you half of what you were paid before
Most AI creative writing is… bad, so firms are on a spree hiring poets, novelists, and other humanities experts to try to fix it
