as someone who uses the singular they professionally, my only problem with it is the fact that "what's-their-face" doesn't hit the same as "what's-his-face".

I'm so mad. I just found out that yesterday was Godzilla day. My grad seminar course meets on Monday evenings, and I assigned Godzilla Minus One for NEXT MONDAY. I'm such a bad academic RIP.

I’ve taken up common placing as a research practice. I find it’s helping me by creating a much more tactile approach to the texts I consume. I’m starting to see my research as having a materiality that I am getting my hands dirty with, manipulating it like an artist does with any other material.
