as someone who uses the singular they professionally, my only problem with it is the fact that "what's-their-face" doesn't hit the same as "what's-his-face".

adding "chat, don't clip that" to the list of things I started saying ironically only to now be a part of my actual vernacular. also, referring to my students as "chat".

I'm so mad. I just found out that yesterday was Godzilla day. My grad seminar course meets on Monday evenings, and I assigned Godzilla Minus One for NEXT MONDAY. I'm such a bad academic RIP.

I always love Hazel's videos, but this quote hit me out of nowhere; "Sometimes, as an interdisciplinary artist, you have to admit you have a favorite baby, and it needs to have the biggest college fund" www.youtube.com/watch?v=de5D...

University of Cincinnati is hiring tenure-track in Games and Animation this cycle. I'm search committee chair and can answer any questions related to the position. Our program is intensive, studio-based, and collaborative, and we welcome industry folks who have MAs/MFAs!

In case it needs restating, autism isn't caused by Tylenol, or vaccines, or woke parents or whatever. It's not a disease, and it doesn't need curing. Eugenicists and fascists love to think of ways to eradicate us because they are unwilling to understand us. But we will outlive them.

I’ve taken up common placing as a research practice. I find it’s helping me by creating a much more tactile approach to the texts I consume. I’m starting to see my research as having a materiality that I am getting my hands dirty with, manipulating it like an artist does with any other material.

sometimes, I love researching contemporary spiritualist/ghost hunting technology and comparing it to historic forms. other times I'm reminded that 98% of this world is grifting.
