I'd love to see something on this as well bc our music comes from a raw and spiritual place. It's gritty, guttural, and sometimes sexual. They put a veneer on that which shaped the culture for decades.

Yea I really would like to see that conversation too and how we simplified our music down and made it more danceable for White people in venerable
motown contributed A LOT to the culture, but i'd love to see extended conversation about the choice to appeal to whiteness & lean into respectability, and the impact that had on BA culture as a whole
