So much of game criticism right now is about some level of realism or coherence within a fantasy world when none of that matters. You used to play Chrono Trigger and you’d run into a talking frog and it wouldn’t be a thing, he’d just be a frog who talked in Medieval English. You’d go ok and have fun

I was discussing Drake's privileged response to Kendrick with a co-worker and I was making the argument that he is simply reinforcing Kendrick's thesis that Drake is an outsider appropriating Hip Hop with this extreme reaction to a Rap Beef and Diss track but then something else struck me... 🧵

Hello #vinylsky I would like go introduce you to my setup. This pioneer PL-A450 from the late 70s was a find. The Adaggio Zen speakers I inherited but the crown jewel is the 1977 Marantz 1250. The only previous owner was my dad so I have been using this amp my whole life.

Hint: Both of these things are equally appropriate for children. Neither is "indoctrination". There is nothing "wrong" with either of these things, and if you feel upset at the thought of a kid watching the bottom one, but not the top, maybe sit and examine your own internal biases and prejudices.
