Our perfect world of delivery by robots appears to still have a minor challenge: seasons.
A Coco gets stuck in the snow on Lake Street because of the snow ridge that nobody clears between the road and the sidewalk; the video maker helps it over

Yes. This is the essence of the #mobilityrevolution (my book of 2015), and also “Smart Cities, Smart Mobility”, published a few years later.
As robotaxis spread and develop they will operate under different constraints to human-driven ones, and reshape cities as a result
Self-driving cars will transform urban economies
A robotaxi boom is coming. The impacts might be broader than you expect

I‘m a big fan of #sharedmobility, obviously. I also support #ridehailing.

I also like a government that can afford its basic services and hits out at tax dodging (providing “services” from NL).

The fact that there is now to be #VAT raised on Uber / Bolt rides in the UK is sensible and correct.

Thoughts on the efficient use of our most priceless urban asset: space.

Why it’s wasted, how we can do better, and some ideas on reallocating #parking spaces. Have a listen.

Language often makes vehicular manslaughter sound innocent.

Most headlines today might say: “Fatal car accident” or “Pedestrian death”.

This one from 1971, about #Detroit: “Where commuters run over black children.”

Harsh? No. Truthful and tragic.

When we speak about “converting” cars in the future… there will be those that come factory fresh as EVs, and are given an ICE engine for nostalgia’s sake.

Here’s the Bavarian and German governments once again “investing” into #Hydrogen vehicle development at #BMW.

An honest assessment for this would be to simply call it what it is: govt funding for a few hydrogen engineers pre-retirement.

Salesperson just called me… and said “speak to you again, Buddy.”

This use of “Buddy” is enough that I don’t want to speak with them again. We’ve never spoken, and the hurdle to being a “Buddy” is much steeper than that.
