When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

Trump’s 79th birthday was met with one of the largest mass protests in U.S. history. At one rally, a 102-year-old Holocaust survivor warned: “Trump is trying to imitate Hitler."

Never stop saying this.
Jeffries: "We will not be lectured by Donald Trump and anyone in the Republican Party about issues of law and order ... he pardoned hundreds of violent felons, criminals, who brutally assaulted police officers and attacked the Capitol on January 6. That's what Donald Trump did on day one."

Trump’s big, ugly budget bill has 4 dangerous provisions that they've snuck in:

1: Defunding Planned Parenthood, which will gut health care nationally and create a backdoor national abortion ban—even in states where abortion is protected.

Of course they are 🙄
The House passed a bill to severely limit the power of federal judges to issue nationwide injunctions. It comes after multiple judges, liberals and conservatives alike, quickly blocked some of Trump's executive actions. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/lowe...

Screw being "practical". These are people's lives in the balance. Human beings! Without due process, they are treated as objects to blame or punish. It's unacceptable.
Brian Kilmeade calls for the end of due process: "It's not practical to think we can do due process on 8 million people ... if we're gonna give every one of these guys a day in a court and a lawyer, we can't do it. They don't deserve it."

Do people grasp what is happening? I really wonder. This means that they can enter anyone’s home without a warrant at any time without due process.

And what do you think will happen if you try to avoid being detained? Or are just, say, sleeping?

We’ve seen this film before. We know how it ends.
NEW: According to the @nytimes.com, the Trump administration is planning to argue that its invocation of the Alien Enemies Act allows it to enter the homes of any person who they believe are subject to the declaration WITHOUT A WARRANT. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/20/u...

Can I just say how much I hate it that we have to argue "fascism is bad because it hurts the economy".

Like the fact that the Dems & even most of the rest of us have collectively decided that the best chance to stop fascism is economic and not to point out that it is cruel and vicious just sucks.

Not surprising 😒
This is a thread about a political influence project you’ve never heard of.

It involves the man second in line for the presidency and an evangelical pastor who’s quietly forged close relationships with some of the most powerful men in the country.

I don't have to be right about everything. I'm always learning, my favorite word is nuance, and I'm a "yes/and" kind of person. But watching the world change around me lately, I've never been more sure in my life that I'm on the right side of history....

Dear Canada: It's not us. It's Trump, and maybe a couple hundred idiot spineless congresscritters unwilling to stand up to him. The rest of us love you and wish to God that this would stop. Please don't lose heart. We understand if you need to retaliate; we won't hold it against you.

Saw that coming a mile away... It was never just going to be about those with criminal behavior or no documentation.
The Laken Riley Act is a sweeping assault on legal immigration. It would subject immigrants *authorized to live and work here* to indefinite detention without a criminal conviction. And it would let a federal judge ban ALL visas from entire countries at a state's request. slate.com/news-and-pol...
This New Immigration Bill That’s About to Pass Is a Horrifying Trojan Horse
If Democrats cannot recover their nerve and stand up to this extremism, they will be complicit in the devastating consequences of its passage.

All of this. When people say it was just people and that we shouldn't let it get to us, it's nothing more than dismissive semantics to me.
"The church didn't hurt you. People did."

Wrong. It is worth recognizing the difference between the Body of Christ called "the Church" in the Bible, and the institution we call "the church." It's the institution that's doing the harm, enabling and even encouraging people to hurt others. 1/3

A thing Mama Doctor Jones on YouTube said once that really stuck with me is - other specialties are surprised by HOW FAST things can get bad in ob/gyn. Because pregnant people are usually young & healthy and their bodies will compensate until they…can’t.
