“If Australia is serious about supporting Ukraine and upholding sanctions, it must follow the UK and EU by announcing a ban on imports of fuels refined from Russian crude and shutting down the backdoor channels that continue to finance Russia’s aggression.”

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Even ignoring the existential costs of climate change, renewables have become much cheaper and more efficient than fossil fuels. It is utterly mad that we continue to subsidise inferior technology that is destroying the biosphere by close to $7 trillion USD per year. That's about 6% of global GDP.
‘The cost of solar power and batteries has fallen 80% in the last decade, with offshore wind costs down 73% and onshore wind down 57%. Stern said the growing economies of scale of climate technology’

People always say, "Oh yeah but green energy pollutes as well."

Here is the facts a Solar Panel pollutes about 1/300th as much as burning gas, and a Wind Turbine about 1/500th.

That means if you used 100% Wind you would get the same pollution in 500 years as you now get in 1.

Article argues there’s no need to mention Reform’s racism as the Brexit shitshow is failure enough.
But that had its roots in racism too. So let’s do both.
