The interview with Alana Beard & @sarahspain.com is a good listen. It did clarify that the Saudi government is not an investor, but instead Project B is hiring their company to produce games. That sounds good, but it also means that they chose to do business with them.

btw those underlying causes are, in short, "we hit the saturation point". Everyone who wants to play video games is already playing them, there's no new markets to reach.
Similarly for music, I guess everybody who wants to pay for music is already doing it, and everybody else is pirating it.

I notice the last 4 years have been almost the same, reminds me of how video game spending has plateaued in that same timeframe.
