Happy Birthday 🇪🇺 !

On 29 June 1985, European leaders chose a flag to represent a shared vision.

Twelve stars, not for nations but for unity, harmony and hope.

A symbol that has grown with us. From a sign of peace to a reflection of our values.

Today, we celebrate 40 years of the EU flag.

With air traffic expected to grow, aviation, like all other transport modes, needs to play its part in delivering climate neutrality in the EU by 2050. 🌍

Decoupling air traffic from environmental impact is not only crucial but also achievable. The EU will keep acting to make it happen. ↓

I am very sad to say, David Lodge died on January 1st.
He was a wonderful man and hugely influential writer.
I was lucky to be his agent and he taught me so much.
His campus novels will be read for years to come.
A great loss.

"Britain needs migration to keep its population stable, to contribute to economic growth, and in the short term at least to secure health and social care."
This is such an obvious truth if we look at the evidence. Responsible politicians must start to change the narrative.
"Although we count people coming in, we can’t know whether they are really migrants until 12 months later... The Migration Advisory Committee which advises government on migration, estimates that, overall, about 43% are likely to stay in the UK permanently."

REALLY helpful guide to the key facts. 👇
Net migration: time to face the real facts
The last government ignored difficult issues, and allowed incompatible policies on migration. The real challenges are much more difficult.
