Here’s a fundamental part of Labour’s problem. It’s not ‘coming’. It’s here. And it’s been here for 10+ years.

A Complete Unknown: wonderful period evocation, breathtaking performances. Norton captures Pete Seeger’s distinctive cadence (spoken and sung) uncannily, and if you shut your eyes Chalamet could be Dylan. Seeger’s drivers and motivation come across but Dylan far less so. Still more myth than man.

I think it demands attention/action so I’m in favour of the national enquiry. But the fact is, the government has fed the troll & shown weakness to people who believe only on strength. So the question is what will the rulers of the US state & economy force the UK state to do next? And after that?

ABC, NBC & CBS dedicated about 16 minutes of airtime last night to the California wildfires without once mentioning climate change.

Since the news failed do it's job, here's a short summary of the role of climate change and wildfire risk:

Just seen Wicked (as good as everyone says). The cinema holds its collective breath as the words ‘something has changed within me’ start the stupendous, anthemic Defying Gravity near the end of the film. Husband leans over and stage whispers ‘FINALLY!’ very audibly. I may have to get divorced.

That’s not trolling the UK govt anymore - that’s straight up campaigning for a political party in a foreign country.
