They were prosecuted, then pardoned by Trump:

• P.G. Sittenfeld: Convicted of taking a bribe
• Devon Archer: Convicted of defrauding $60M from a tribal entity
• Brian Kelsey: Convicted of illegally funneling ~$100K into his campaign
A Tale of Two Terms: How Powerful Figures Were Prosecuted in Trump’s First Term, Then Pardoned in His Second
We found that Donald Trump has granted clemency in at least a dozen criminal cases that originated during his first term. No other president has used clemency to erase his own appointees’ actions on s...

“And what of the writers, the thinkers, and the pundits who cannot separate the great crime of Kirk’s death from the malignancy of his public life? Can they truly be so ignorant to the words of a man they have so rushed to memorialize?”

What happened today is awful. People who fight against gun violence, people who loathe what Charlie Kirk stood for, must also condemn political violence. It’s a vicious cycle. This is a very dangerous moment.

@charliesavage.bsky.social This could sound conspiracy-laden but is it possible that the US used FISA 702 to collect on Abrego Garcia while he was in El Salvador?

On X, the vice president …

a) admits it’s impossible to deport millions of people without observing the due process of immigration court

b) makes clear they plan to deport millions anyway

c) deliberately conflates a life sentence in a foreign gulag with deportation

d) again lies about Garcia

NEW: A second filing today from the DOJ tells Judge Xinis that in their view, since Mr. Abrego is in Bukele's custody, she can't order them to do anything further to bring him back since that's not what "facilitate" means.

They also say the deal with Bukele is classified and/or a state secret.

Yes, the stock market may be tanking and our national security apparatus has never been more vulnerable and we're on the verge of both economic collapse and war, but it was all worth it to keep pronouns out of email signatures.

Goddamn it, Big Balls!!
This is true: The Trump administration said it has imposed a 10% tariff on the British Indian Ocean Territory, whose only inhabitants are the U.S. and U.K. service members at the military base on Diego Garcia.
Incredibly, this appears to be true. We tariffed our own (jointly operated with the UK) military base.

@teslatakedown.com how about this as an idea. There are probably thousands of people who have useless Tesla chargers in their garage, either due to inheriting it or selling their junk car.

Would be a shame if those were to be decorated or defaced.

And Elon can only cry; my property, my choice!!

This. The DC US Attorney is a direct and immediate threat to the rule of law and an obvious partisan hack.
It *is* annoying that this NATO ambassador thing is getting more attention--from smart people!--than the fact that Adam Schiff(!) seems to be picking a wiser fight on the DC US Attorney.

As of Friday, there have been 46 cases in which federal judges have blocked Trump policies.

The rulings in those cases have come from 39 different judges appointed by 5 different presidents (of both parties) to 11 different district courts across 7 different circuits.

Maybe it's not the judges?

This is *extremely* alarming — White House fires a career federal prosecutor because he (1) went after a politically connected businessman and (2) criticized Trump during a 2020 congressional bid.

“White House fires a career prosecutor” is itself unprecedented.

Also, Trump is probably going to invade two of our allies soon.

There are not. But the administration’s general strategy appears to be to confuse the public by asserting that even the clearest black-letter law is hotly contested so long as they can scrounge up some hack willing to pretend up is down.
