My mom bought this issue for me and my brother at a used bookstore in Lafayette that also sold comics. It was a little banged up, so it cost 39 cents. 🙂

That store got ahead of the 90s boom and comics became much more of its focus, but then it tanked like everything else during the bust.

I’m no longer teaching, but I wish I could have set up my writing classes, especially creative writing classes, in a room of my own design—something more like this would have been better.
This was my film classroom. I’ve since heard that classroom walls are being left bare as new research - ha! - says that students will get distracted from the teacher. I’m glad they were! It will all turn around again back to displays as it always does but it’s depressing.

That’s not a great salary for an executive assistant in LA.

"Adaptation is a bit like translation. We can nit-pick certain words in a translation, but are the essential narrative elements conveyed, including tone?"

I haven’t seen the movie, and this is pretty funny.

But…maybe comic book artists should increase their page rates, band together, start a union or guild, or fight together in some other way so that this isn’t so far-fetched?

There’s a guy in England, a political figure, who shares a name with my friend who killed himself in 1998. I don’t follow the account here, but for some reason, most of his posts get recommended to me. It stops me every time.

(Twitter used to recommend that I follow my deceased parents’ accounts.)

Studio executives get really upset if they’re not thanked by name during an awards show?

Well, well, well …

Look who made the cover of “John Wayne” magazine. Again.

Better luck next time, Gacy.

My boys just watched this movie yesterday for the first time.

They loved it.
For Zod. For Priscilla. For all of it. RIP Terence Stamp. Your nobility lives forever.

Oh, never mind.

Mark Chiarello with the best Spidey cover I've seen in a while. Love this. The villain's faces.
