I get why so many folks were rooting for the Blue Jays as a symbolic win against our disgraceful administration BUT we Angelinos LOVE our #Dodgers!! What an unbelievable comeback!! Legendary pitching in honor of Fernando's birthday today! My husband made a special ofrenda this year. #WorldSeries

lotta people saying to donate to food banks which is great, but if that’s not available to you, often they are desperate for volunteers! shifts can be short, a few hours when you’re free, doing stuff like sorting boxes, making sandwiches, or delivering meals, depending on the org

Pet food is usually not covered by SNAP (depending on where you are), but needing to cover more groceries may take up what you would have spent on it. Many animal shelters have pet food pantries, so check your local if you're struggling to feed your pets.

As SNAP benefits are cut, this should be something we demand of state governors to do with their states national guard.
Food banks & other forms of community aid will feel the stress caused by these cuts. There will undoubtedly be understaffing and shortages, this is one way we can prepare for this

It is not widely reported, but Medi-Cal (Cali’s Medicaid) is set to end at the end of December because of the Government shutdown
And CalFresh (Cali’s food stamps) is set to end at the end of October
So millions of people will lose their food assistance & healthcare in a matter of weeks or months

I am glad @gavinnewsom.bsky.social had the sense to shut the freeway & it must have been a hard choice with how INCREDIBLY DISRUPTIVE shutting down the main fwy from LA area to San Diego on a Sat is! Hegseth needs to resign, he's a danger to the people. Stop wasting $$ for show of force!
