When I was looking for a house for my father a couple of years ago, my house inspector called me 10 minutes into the inspection on the house I’d put an offer on and said “we are NOT buying this”.
Now that I’m back out of the market I can make this observation. Boomers are horrible about home maintenance. Just horrible.

This is a thing of beauty.
Pulling the most recent police log led me to once again see an incredible holiday decoration picture a cousin in Omaha sent me

Whelp.
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Cabi and Sauvi are purebred American Alley Cats. They were found under a car in a dentist’s parking lot in San José and they are perfect in every way.

I am SO BORED with constantly seeing cheap knock-offs of the Studio Ghibli style everywhere. Your conference registration page is not enhanced by a Ghibli-style image of the Golden Gate Bridge. Stop it.

This is political social media perfection. I hope someone’s writing a book about how this campaign has absolutely crushed its social media strategy.

“I could smell the onions and mustard.” I bet this poor snowflake of a BP agent can’t walk down the condiments aisle at the grocery store without getting PTSD.
Border Patrol agent Lairmore testifies that he was not injured by the sandwich, but he felt the impact through his ballistic vest.

The sandwich came apart and "kind of exploded" on his chest upon impact, he says.

"I could smell the onions and mustard."

If you’ve also been feeling pretty beaten up about *waves hands at the universe*, check out the rescue operation for Cat’s new dog Velveteen. Strangers came together to save this dog. It’s heart warming in the best way possible. I needed the reminder that not everything sucks.
She’s at the ferry terminal! Less than an hour before we meet our new family member!

AHHHHHHH!
I am so flabbergasted & tearful & grateful & JUST REALLY EMOTIONAL over everything that’s happened around this so-special pup since this saga started on…good god, how was it only Wednesday morning?

That it has meant as much to so many of you fills me up to the brim.

I would like to read this book.
The wizard is snuggled into his bed, reading a novel about a dragon veterinarians. The little cat is curled up above his head, on the pillow.

At the Apple Store, my tshirt is close to the official color. I’ve helped three people so far, but haven’t been able to get any help myself. Do I get a commission for the laptop and monitor I just sold?

@rougeforever.bsky.social The National Trust needs your expertise!
Customer feedback this week;

‘Please can you get some more diversity at the National Trust by encouraging more hot men to visit.’

Ideas for how we do this v welcome. Nothing too racy please - we are the National Trust not the National Tryst.

My stomach is upset. As a native Michigander, the only possible cure for an upset stomach is Vernor’s ginger ale. I used to be able to reliably get it at a couple of Safeways in the Bay Area, but now I can’t find it anywhere nearby. I shall die of upset tummy.

Today is one of my favorite holidays on my calendar: Hobonichi 2026 On-Sale Day.

They are still shipping to the US from Japan. The base shipping cost is $47, plus I prepaid another $30 in tariffs. Last year’s shipping, on a much larger order, was $30, and of course there were no tariffs.

@nora.zone The little cat forgot to step on the wizard in the morning, so the charm that was sharing the wizard’s goings on has wore off. Maybe it needs some freshly ground herb?

I am completely invested in updates of the wizard and the little cat.
The wizard sleeps gently. The little cat appears to be reading a spellbook in the library.
