My father served under General Mark Clark in Italy, one of his best friends was a Hawaiian of Japanese decent. When I got married in 1978, his best friend gave us a porcelain locket box, we are very fond of gift and the chance to meet him and his wife. Of course neither spoke of their time in WWII
