I know my bio talks about nuance, but there is no nuance in the Israel-Palestinian situation. Israel is 100% at fault. You can't bomb, kidnap, beat, kill and otherwise oppress people for decades without it eventually biting you in the @$$.

I often hear people saying if only Americans knew how bad things were, they'd rise up and protest. This is Exhibit A that it's not true.
I was a border reporter for ten years and truly believed that Americans would move collectively to stop it once they figured out how awful it was. That I was so badly wrong about it breaks my heart every single day.

It’s pretty wild how US foreign policy is based on the constant threat of vaporizing thousands of cities around the world and all the civilians in them if we feel threatened (and probably also ending all life on Earth). We won’t even rule out a first strike! That is some Bond villain shit.
