My oldest, me, and my parents were out for No Kings today in Bangor. I don't know how many people were there, but it was a lot and a really positive experience. (And now both of the kids are obsessed with inflatable halloween costumes.)

When magazines were a thing, getting the cover a Newsweek really signaled wider awareness and interest. At this point, I assume people who pick up magazines in the grocery store an older demographic.

Shirt upgrade. I never remember which one I'm wearing, which is awkward when people say "I like your tshirt" but today it is an intentional discussion starter for Abnormal Psych.

This is what happens when psychologists take an ahistorical perspective on their work. For the rest of us, it's a big pile of WTF.

I really like @niamhgarvey.bsky.social's Looking After Your Autistic Self: A Personalised Self-Care Approach to Managing Your Sensory and Emotional Well-Being and have recommended it to folks. I haven't read her new book yet, but it is out today. ✨

Fingers crossed. Bought a small shelf just to corral my assigned books for the term. As always, this method only works if I remember to return the books back to the bookshelf. We'll see how I do. 🤞

Our university is offering this as part of a business class. [Cue recent article on coding grads going to work at chipotle.]

Reminds me of this book. The whole genius of it was providing lot of physical metaphors about the relationship between your body and the horses.

I keep track of rising prices by this metric: how much does a 30oz container of fish biscuits cost

If you're someone who love their garden or just someone who likes reading gardening catalogs and imaging actually growing anything, Fedco is my favorite. It's a Maine company too.

In a magical world of warmth, delicious smells, and an epic tree covered in cat toys and light, Shoo plans to stay awake to see if the House Cat's tale of The Great Christmas Cat is true and get his wish granted.

Do love a ND buddy show, even though I hate cop shows. I know all the attention is on Astrid, who is the autistic character, but to me her relationship w/ Raphaëlle is central. (Bonus: there are many autistic characters in the show and they help each other out).

Read it. Got to adults who actually know, respect, and care about young people.
