We collectively rubberneck far too often for a pack of the most boring, boorish, entitled men who between them share a wet napkin's worth of a vision for the future.

We have to knock that shit off. They are other people with more substantive things to say in addressing our collective situation.

see, there are always more new cool things
Oh, I love this. A new species of sea anemone was discovered recently that parks itself on top of a hermit crab shell like a hat. It seems to feed partly off the crab's faeces, but it also excretes a hard shell that extends the crab's home. In return, it's carried around the seafloor like a king.

One on side, the Trump administration is arguing that hormones are "mutilating" when used by trans people. When used by cis people, they are removing all the warning labels and increasing access.

Funny how that works.

Yoto & what not is nice, but how about paring it w/ actual text so the kids can put the auditory together w/ the visual? And for picture books & illustrated stories they can see the illustrations.

The worst ADHD pitch goes to Hallowell and Ratey for having the most pathetic coverage of autism in a book on ADHD that published after 2013... Swing and a miss, fellas.

If you want to start a newsletter and don't want to use Substack because they currently platform/sponsor Nazis: consider using the free and open-sourced alternative that has been around for over a decade.

I'll personally walk you through it.

It's like letter of recommendation whack-a-mole. I seem to always have some to do no matter how many I finish, but I'm also out there saying, "Please DO NOT just apply to grad school because you aren't sure whatever to do after college."

Could go all VT & ME style and let incarcerated people vote
This has not gotten much attention, but it should.

Virginia under Youngkin returned to an insanely harsh system where people convicted of any felony lose their voting rights FOR LIFE.

Dems' win this week mean they'll get to advance a constitutional amendment to end lifetime disenfranchisement.

It got drowned out in all the good news from last night, but Boston Mayor Michelle Wu became the youngest person to be reelected in the city's history.

She ran unopposed because her opponent--Patriots owner Bob Kraft's son--withdrew a few months ago after realizing he had no hope of winning.

Firmly believe one of the ways to improve trust in journalism among young people is to support them in learning to research, write, and report themselves. Even if they never pursue it as a job, it helps to understand the process, and encourages them to engage with their local journalism outlets.
About half of the teens surveyed believe that journalists frequently “make up details, such as quotes” and “pay for sources.” More than a third of teens believe journalists could improve by simply “Telling the truth,” “Fact checking,” and “Not lying.” buff.ly/7vgO0ci

Low Earth orbit is crowded with debris, threatening the atmosphere and future exploration. Experts say it’s time to treat space like an ecosystem, not a dumping ground.
