“If the early AIDS movement and our ACT UP veterans taught us anything, it is how to collectively and fiercely fight for each other and never give up in times of despair.” #WorldAIDSDay
For #WorldAIDSDay, I wrote for @vogue.com.web.brid.gy about what we’re up against these next four years and how we should refuse to acquiesce. Between persisting inequities and an AIDS denialist nominee, we’ve got our work cut out for us—so let’s get to it. www.vogue.com/article/worl...
With Threats on The Horizon, World AIDS Day Is Still a Call to Action
Jason Rosenberg reflects on how far we have come in the fight to eradicate AIDS—and what we have to lose.

Let’s continue fighting stigma, educating ourselves, & ensuring those living with HIV don’t feel shame.

We’ve come a long way, but there’s still a lot of work to do. Together we can achieve that.

Solidarity with all who are living with HIV. You are not the problem, ignorance is!

It's ok to not always feel ok.
It's ok to take a day off with tea & books.
It's ok to wear a tiara of ancient goblin bones.
It's ok to wander into the forest and commune with moss and gloom.

Today is Christopher Tolkien 100th anniversary, without whom we would never have known Tolkien's work in such a depth, thanks to his incredible work in his father's archives, and protecting his legacy as long as he lived. 🤍

This got a ton of likes and new followers. It's a greatest hit from the other site but I stand by it because: I started a lit mag for no reason. I made friends. I got some bylines. It gave me confidence. I began transitioning. I kept writing. I got a book deal and accomplished my dream. Yes, do it.
This is still my advice: Become a writer anyway. Fuck it, do it, it won't save you, but it's still a beautiful dream to write novels and short stories and poems and mingle with other dreamers and make art and laugh in the face of death. And writing is constant death. Live más.

Thank you, Martin! 😊
I very much dig @mvankerckhove.bsky.social's @marchxness.bsky.social essay on DJ Sammy's take on "Heaven"—particularly his attention to material artifacts: "lighters (that we only had for concerts!)"—& this song may be the purest example of Oughts Danceness in the bracket.
