As a “hawk” who until now ardently asked for a more assertive position by shooting down objects that violate airspace I appreciate @alanderminna.bsky.social’s clear analysis on the subject and formed my opinion accordingly.
Wrote a longer article on why the heated debate in Europe about whether and when to shoot down Russian jets that violate our air space misses the point. It may have to be done, but it’s not a silver bullet with an automatic de-escalation logic.

Maxar has cut off satellite imagery access to Ukraine, undoubtedly due to pressure from the U.S. government.
This means that not just classified, but commercially available unclassified intelligence products are being cut off.

Deutschland hat‘s leider geschafft, allseits bissl unbeliebt zu werden. Zuerst im Süden mit seiner Fiskalpolitik und dann im Nordosten mit seiner Russlandpolitik.
Ich hoffe dennoch, dass eine Umkehr (man könnte es auch Zeitenwende nennen) jetzt stattfindet und wir uns wieder auf DE verlassen können

Man muss an diesem Tag kurz an die Südeuropäer denken, die in Brüssel jahrzehntelang an selbstgefälligen deutschen Schuldenbremsern scheiterten. Wer das Image der Deutschen in Teilen Europas verstehen will, kann hier beginnen.
