I came across something I'd never seen in a parish burial register before; a child described as 'of Silent birth' - clearly a still birth. And now it's occurred to me that the German for silent is 'stille' (Stille Nacht = Silent Night) the term 'still birth' has taken on a more powerful meaning... 😢
