if Trump and his cronies are able to veto appropriations made by Congress, then we've already moved into a dictatorial system of government. Why would Democrats waste time negotiating spending deals if Trump can just rip them up after he signs them?

There’s been a lot of debate over whether Trump means this as a threat or it’s a troll. But the actual answer is it’s both. He dropped it as a throwaway line but his clinical narcissism does not allow him to believe any idea of his is less than perfect and brilliant, so he’s become committed to it

This is how they plan on getting swing district Republicans to vote to gut Medicaid/etc: They’ll keep payments flowing in red districts while eliminating them in blue districts.

Not saying it’ll work but that’s clearly the plan.
