Some much damage done, so much more left to do…
The stupidity of Farage’s latest ‘plan’ is staggering.
Claiming they’d save British taxpayers money by ripping up international commitments and starting a trade war with Europe is the puerile foot-stamp of a party that uses prejudice as policy. Ruinous nonsense.

Excellent 💚

I'd love it if every time Reform talk about asylum seekers being a "danger to women and girls" someone could point out that 20% of Reform MPs have a conviction for assaulting a woman, so are statistically a FAR greater danger.

It’s weird that they still say that and not one of them ever seems to rail against the largest demographic perpetrators of violence against women in the UK. White men.

Any Labour MP with any conscience needs to get up and cross that floor.

This cannot be tolerated. It just can’t.

This isn’t a bit shady. This isn’t questionable. It isn’t uncomfortable. It’s full fat, over the line FACISM and you’re either part of it or you’re not.

Do. The right. Thing.
A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

Labour will never win a race to the bottom. Nor should they have ever tried to compete.
Xenophobia comes from the darkness of humanity. It poisons a society. To embrace it, whether through belief or political expediency, is to ignore history and where it will inevitably lead.
Shabana Mahmood has announced major changes to the UK’s asylum system.

"This isn’t just a moral failure, it’s a complete misreading of the political runes," writes Jessica Frank-Keyes.

No school has 100% attendance.
It should run at 97-98%.
The 2-3% should be ’authorised’. i.e. genuine sickness.
Systems to deal with un-authorised absences should be robust and effective.
There, sorted and not a fucking costly AI in sight.

It’s what we have expected all along. The further rightward the govt goes on immigration, the further hard right Farage and his acolytes will go. The monster will not be sated until every immigrant is in chains on prison hulks in the Medway or somewhere else further away. A zero sum facist game.

As Labour proposes limiting the protection of the ECHR, we must remember what it was set up to do; protect us all from abuses of power by our govts.
Be v wary then of anyone calling to do that. You may not be the target now. But why shouldn’t you be next?

IDK much about typical daily politics.
I barely get how parliament works.
IDK who's in cabinet for the most part.
What I do know is that despite a large amount of good things Labour are getting done, Shobana Mahmood is making it increasingly emotionally & practically difficult to try to defend them.
