This week on the 𝗠𝗦𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 podcast, I’m talking about gluten, and why the MS + gluten guidance might be… misguided. You deserve clarity. Not arbitrary food rules. Let’s take the overwhelm out of eating — one myth at a time. 🎧 MSBites: https://apple.co/3KGAIqG #multiplesclerosis

My 𝗷𝗼𝘆 recipe includes:
✨ A meal I didn’t overthink
✨ A bite that makes me exhale
✨ And zero shame on the side
Because food gets to feel like support — not a self-improvement project. #multiplesclerosis

𝗣𝘄𝗠𝗦: You’re not failing at “eating for MS.” You’re living with a high-cost, high-symptom, high-pressure disease in an exhausting nutrition environment. Just getting through the day is an act of resilience. You deserve nutrition that fits into your life — not the other way around. #multiplesclerosis

Integrative, Functional, and other 𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙚 'diets' for MS focus on what 𝗻𝗼𝘁 to eat. (with no evidence, btw) But your body can’t thrive on fear and limitation. It thrives on 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 approached with variety, balance, and flexibility. #multiplesclerosis #msdietitian

When MS hijacks your day and cooking feels impossible, try this: Grab something easy, sit somewhere comfy, and 𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘄𝗮𝘆. A bowl of cereal, a PBJ, or leftover pizza counts.
You’re not failing — you’re adapting. Adapting is acceptance in action. That is resilience. #multiplesclerosis #msdietitian

“Just cut out gluten, dairy, sugar, joy, and human connection. You'll feel amazing.”
Except... 𝗻𝗼.
You don’t need to burn your pantry to the ground to support your health with MS.
Living with a complex disease is hard enough without turning meals into an obstacle course.  #multiplesclerosis

I wish I could tell you food alone will fix it all.
But MS isn’t a punishment you can reverse with kale. Or offal.
Food helps. Routines help. Grace helps more.
The cure fantasy will burn you out. Let it go. #multiplesclerosis #dietitian

It's hard to tell the difference between:

1. Scientific language that's evidence-based

2. Scientific language built on cherry-picked data

Especially without training in research.

Best to follow a range of voices—not just one influencer or group of people with identical beliefs.

Congress should pass the bipartisan BARK Act, my bill to save millions of pounds of perfectly good pet food from the trash and get it to the growing population of hungry shelter dogs and cats.

We can do this. Let’s get it done.

Eric Berg is a chiropractor who spreads lies about safe & nutritious foods.

Organic is a 35-year scam legitimized by politics.

It is NOT pesticide free & those pesticides are less regulated. Many are more toxic than those used in conventional farming.

Can I get an amen? Folks with #multiplesclerosis should check entire thread but 7/ is really relevant. We are living in a very challenging times, y’all. Misinformation and wellness woo is everywhere.
“Medicine doesn’t treat the root cause, they just treat symptoms.”

—Every wellness grifter

Marty Makary, RFK Jr & MAHA allies claim they’re going to “fix” American health by focusing on “root cause medicine.”

Reality? They’re using the FDA to spread wellness propaganda.

This is not a “health push.”

Some better ideas:

Increasing SNAP benefits to cover cost of a healthy meal

Adding bonus SNAP benefits to incentivize healthy options

Pushing for fair wages that would render SNAP unnecessary

New study on non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NGCS) shows that it probably doesn't exist.

In a blinded, randomized setting, people with NGCS had the same response to placebo (gluten-free) yoghurt and muffins as to the ones with gluten.
