They are arresting people on the streets, terminating their visas, and disappearing them for writing things they disagree with. This is where we are. Two months in. Right now. If you think they won’t begin coming after citizens soon, you are mistaken.

🧵A worthy tutorial on Title 1.
Let’s talk about the Department of Education (DOE) and Title 1 school funding.

If we were to lose the DOE allocation of Title 1 funds would lose oversight. As planned in P2025, these funds would be turned into grants that would be granted to states with 0 accountability.

Library patrons everywhere, rise up!
The most recent EO targets federal funding of libraries.

This will impact grants, interlibrary loans, statewide databases and collections, and systems of support for public, school, and academic libraries.

Read this again: the MULTIRACIAL working class. Poor/working class people have more in common with each other than anyone has with the wealthy and super wealthy. Understand how class works, and who has designed the system that keeps most folks sick and struggling.

Important thread for folks monitoring exec order on healthcare for trans folks under 18 y.o.
Donald Trump has just released a national under 18 trans care ban executive order. I am working through specifically how it tries to do this, and will live tweet here section by section as I read through it.

It is not yet on the website, but has been released via press release.

ACT-UP, reactivate.
I know there’s a lot right now. But folks need to understand what this means.

A suspension this long would mean people living with HIV lose their medicine for months. People around the world lose their PrEP for months, putting millions at risk of getting HIV. Drug-resistant strains could emerge.

Dems gambling with Trans peoples’ survival on yet another front is craven, cynical, callous, and unconscionable.
NEW: When the 1st Trump admin proposed a rule allowing homeless shelters to turn trans people away, congressional Dems were furious

Now, it’s unclear how much Dems would push back if it happens again

It’s “a complicated issue,” one senior House Dem told me
