Bloody hell - the car tax on my new old “bangernomics” car is £400 a year.

On the plus point you can pay on Amex so I got Avios points for it - up yours Reeves!

I’m quite a volume drinker so I rather like lower alcohol beers, but is it actually possible to make the much unloved Fosters weaker and it still be a beer???

Reckon Keir Starmer’s done a cracking job of closing down any speculation about him getting the Spanish Archer

The Makropulos Case at the ROH for me this week - I enjoyed it (and that it’s winding people up) but the relatively chirpy music is a bit at odds with another Janáček centring on treating women appallingly.

I really liked the way West Streeting used a Traitors’ analogy on #BBC4Today - it was charming and shows he’s in touch.

If anything sums up 2025 Britain it’s the chaotic and surprise introduction of poppies with weird dagger shaped paper stems that no-one knows whether they are s’posed to go in your buttonhole or not.

Enjoyed Frankenstein but it’s too long and the pacing felt clunky. Suffers a bit once you clock how much Oscar Isaac looks like Harry H Corbett in “Carry On Screaming”

Whenever I hear the golf tournament “The Race to Dubai” mentioned, I involuntarily cringe as I can vividly imagine the branding pitch film in all its toe curling vulgarity.

Of all my aghast dismay at the modern world, after from the war, racism and disaster capitalism, the John Lewis ads are a strong 4th.

Today marks the 420th anniversary of the launch of the first John Lewis Christmas advert.

Featuring a ½ speed version of Greensleeves, played on an acoustic lute, the ad showed the preparations to hang, draw, and quarter Guy Fawkes, and ends with his face lighting up as he's shown his own entrails.
