Phang: If you were scrolling on social media and saw a dog locked up in the middle of the Everglades—in the sun, in the heat, in the humidity—the outrage would be wild, wouldn’t it?

But then—we’re okay with human beings being treated like that?

They’re planning on building a detention center for migrants in the middle of the fetid swamps of Florida.

If you think this is something new, the first internment camp they sent me and my family to in 1942 was a barbed wire prison called Rohwer. It was located in the swamps of Arkansas.

So, why is eye contact hard? Knowing how much to make, and how to do it without feeling uncomfortable? I’m trying to do hard to make eye contact with someone I’m on stage with this summer and am struggling so much. He is extremely nice and friendly, which makes me feel bad that I’m like this. Help?

Tonight, I'll go home and sleep in my bed. I have a lawyer, I'll get due process.

But Edgardo, whose arm was ripped from mine by ICE agents, has none of those things.

That's why I'll keep coming back to court, week after week, to make sure that people's rights are protected.

Today they have crossed a deep red line.

We, the people, must hold the president and his appointees accountable for this outrageous abuse against American liberty.

It would really be great if, when journalists are interviewing Stephen Miller, who goes off a tirade on courts curbing executive power, could ask, What article of the Constitituon grants the power to:

1. Control immigration
2. Regulate international commerce
3. Suspend habeas

The government’s own data, which was obtained by ProPublica, The Texas Tribune and a team of journalists from Venezuela, showed that officials knew that only 32 of the deportees had been convicted of U.S. crimes and that most were nonviolent offenses, such as retail theft or traffic violations.
Trump Administration Knew Vast Majority of Venezuelans Sent to Salvadoran Prison Had Not Been Convicted of U.S. Crimes
Homeland Security records reveal that officials knew that more than half of the 238 deportees were labeled as having no criminal record in the U.S. and had only violated immigration laws.

No one experiencing the tragedy of a miscarriage should be arrested, much less abandoned in jail for 5 months with a $100k bond. But that’s exactly what happened to Mallori Patrice Strait in Texas. Women, particularly women of color, in this country are no longer allowed dignity even in extreme loss
