I don't really use TikTok that much, but I find it fascinating that our government is on the verge of banning an app for national security reasons that are still unclear in the same week that Meta, the largest social media company, says it's now fine to hate LGBTQ people and call us mentally ill.

I agree. My second daughter was more interested in carpentry than college but I wanted her to experience being away from home, meeting different people with different views….I told her, give college a try and if you still want trade school, fine She is now driving excavators and loving it!

I dated an engineer from a top 20 college who did not know who mahatma Ghandi was…that is a problem. Needless to say it did not last long between us!
Because when you have engineers and stem majors who don’t know anything about the world and can’t articulate their ideas, they are less effective in stem. I do think that those classes should be tailored for those majors though like “history of scientific innovation” instead of just “history”
