Well now, would you look at that? A massive, 4-YEAR-LONG study of NEARLY 30 MILLION people in France found that individuals who received a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine had a 74% LOWER risk of death from severe COVID-19 compared to unvaccinated individuals and ZERO increased risk of all-cause mortality.

We got 8 inches of snow on Wednesday! (we can always use the moisture). One of my Mom's neighbors has a plow, and always plows her driveway for free. Another neighbor shoveled the front walk. The next day, they also dug my car out! (it's parked on the street). What a sweet thing to do!

It's great that reporting on the double tap has spotlighted the abject criminality of this Administration.

But don't forget: Venezuela is not waging war on America or Americans, and the men killed were not combatants.

The first strike was every bit as illegal as the second.

Years ago, I created a pair of holidays - Last First, and First Last. Dec 1 is Last First, the last first-day-of-the-month, and Jan 31 is First Last (the first last-day-of-the-month). The overall premise is that you can make changes in your life at any time, not just New Years Resolutions.

Well, everything was delicious, and I'm stuffed. :) But not too badly over-stuffed; I managed to dish up slightly more reasonable amounts of everything than some years. Just my Mom and I this year; bro & his family are on vacation, but hopefully we'll see them Sat or Sun.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Justice is AWOL, abscondi!
She’s corrupt to the max,
Like all Trumpian hax…
If she ever had ethics … long gondi.
In normal times, it would be a major scandal for the President to direct his AG to criminally investigate his political opponents to deflect from his own involvement in a major scandal — and for the AG to immediately announce she is doing it. The Epstein scandal and cover up just got even bigger.

Well, congrats to Aaron Judge. With the season he had, he certainly was deserving of the MVP (But I just happen to think Cal Raleigh was a little *more* deserving this year) :P Oh well. I'm glad Cal won several of the player-of-the-year awards voted on by the MLB players.

Oh my goodness, the Northern Lights were super visible from here in Boulder tonight. My camera (phone) insisted on taking long exposures, so all my pictures look at least 10x brighter than what I actually saw, but there was definitely color & moving light visible to the naked eye. So cool!

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

These operations would be unlawful even if those murdered had all been criminals. But it's important to show just how much deception is involved from start to finish in this gruesome charade.
The AP tracked down details of some of the people killed in President Trump's military strikes on drug smugglers he describes as narco-terrorists.

They were, with one exception, not high-level criminals. One was a fisherman. One was a bus driver; another a taxi driver.

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

I voted a couple days ago (Colorado does 100% mail-in voting)! I miss going to a polling place a tiny bit, but the convenience of being able to vote on my own time, with my computer in front of me to do research, makes me vastly prefer voting by mail. Our results are also available faster!

I love how Rep. Joe Neguse reframed this question.

And congrats to Toronto. They're firing on all cylinders right now, which is what you need to make a deep run in the playoffs. I really don't want the Dodgers to repeat, so I hope Toronto stomps them.

Well, that sucked. I think the Tigers got their revenge in the end (though if our best starting pitcher hadn't gotten injured in his last start of the season, I think we'd have beat the Tigers without needing Game 5 at all). Whatever the reason, the M's just didn't play well enough.

There were definitely more people at the Boulder No Kings protest today, than at the last No Kings protest (and there were a lot then)! Lots of great signs, some fun inflatable costumes, a peaceful day of protesting.

If Adelita Grijalva was a Republican, Mike Johnson would have sworn her in long ago to the office she was elected to.

If she wasn’t the deciding signature to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files, Mike Johnson would have sworn her in long ago.

All his bs excuses are lies.

Welp, that game sucked. Starting pitching, relief pitching, and hitting, all doing badly. I know the M's are capable of turning things around. The question is just...will they manage to? I hope so! But frankly if Toronto keeps playing like they have the last 2 days, then they deserve to win. :(

I’m gonna go to a No Kings rally on Saturday and I hope all of you will too! There are more of us than there are fascists and it’s time to remind them.
The fact that top Republicans are already fearmongering about, lying about, the No Kings rallies this Saturday, across the US, tells you how worried they are about public pressure and protest against their reactionary, autocratic, anti-American agenda.
