Using linked survey, census, admin and commercial data, we aim to produce the best estimates of income & poverty in the US.

We find disposable median hhld income is 7.1% higher and SPM poverty is 2.4pp lower than 2018 survey-based estimates. (1/n)

That is easy to communicate. Will they treat it as a 5 alarm fire in a way that forces the government to respond, or will they downplay & caveat it?

Today is transgender day of remembrance. GLAAD defines this as "an annual observance on 11/20 that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence." Our transgender colleagues, friends, students, family members need us to stand up for them.

Today is #BiVisibilityDay. Fellow academics, Gallup's recent poll suggests 15% of Gen Z (their definition, born 1997-2003) are bisexual. Be kind to your queer students. Bi+/pan students, you aren't alone in the academy (bi+ woman professor from Gen X here).
