I found this speech to be a remarkably effective bit of rhetoric. The crowd was very much on the side of "stop building luxury apartments" during the meeting and regularly heckled anyone they disagreed with throughout the night. No such heckles for the full duration of Natalie's speech!

Another thing last night got me thinking about: are the downtown mall businesses just permanently in crisis? It sounds like they've been talking about declining sales for like, decades? And yet every time I go there there's people out and about getting drinks and food
