Having a background in both business management and clinical medicine is such a weird combo. After combing through the billing practices of my new clinic for a month now, I've run across SO many great services we provide that just...aren't being billed for, for no discernible reason whatsoever.

My beloved celestial blue Mazda3 hatchback is on the verge of coding. Do I go ahead and buy a new car before the 25% tariffs hit or roll the dice on it surviving and trying to save money in the event that my Fed employee husband gets shitcanned for zero logical reason?

Are we great again yet? 🙃

A friend drove two hours today for her breast cancer chemotherapy only to learn it was canceled due to NIH cuts. Clinical trial ended midstream. No treatment, no restart, no plan, no information. Her bro-in-law's chemo was also canceled.

New data indicates that the use of structural heart interventions in patients with amyloidosis is on the rise. More research is needed to identify the optimal treatment approach for this growing population. www.structuralheartjournal.org/article/S247... #CardioSky #MedSky #CardioResearch

Me, after an hour of new EMR training:

Trainer: Okay, that's the basic gist of this new system!

Me: Neat. How many patients am I seeing tomorrow?

Trainer: We usually start with 3-5 on your first day solo, but you've got more.

Me: How many more?

Trainer: 17.

Me: ....

New job is going great! I'm totally basking in the culture of respect that seems to be ingrained in this organization. Admin leaves a bit to be desired, but you can't win em all.

Overall: 8.5/10. 10/10 with rice.

First week new job impressions:

- Athena is great. Medhost is not.
- Credentialing, as always, continues to suck.
- Outpatient medicine is way more flexible than I thought it'd be.
- I'm going to spend a million dollars a week at Bigfoot Little Donuts.

The impact from these EOs have been devastating and immediate. This student, a refuge on TPS from Venezuela, has lost their legal status and will likely have to abandon their collegiate aspirations.

What about the nursing shortage?! Are we really going to deport legal, documented nursing students?

As doctors and nurses, it is our moral duty to care for every person who walks through the door & needs medical help. Allowing ICE to raid hospitals & clinics is immoral and will lead to needless suffering & death. Reading this made me cry...what nation have we become? #medsky
Allowing ICE in hospitals is a public health catastrophe in the making
Allowing ICE to conduct raids in hospitals and medical clinics is not only cruel; it is a public health catastrophe in the making, writes Eric Reinhart.

Pin this, save it, we’ll need it.

More credentialing woes. It's going to be at least another week before I can start my new job. I've now been home for a month. I'm baking banana bread. I'm making candles. I haven't worn shoes in weeks. Suddenly I have opinions about sourdough starters. Guys help, I'm going domestic #MedSky
