Even if housing WASN’T cheaper than jail, it would still make more sense and solve more problems in the long run. It just so happens that in this case it’s the most effective solution AND the cheapest solution.

I am no constitutional scholar, but I can't help but feel that "the President gets to dictate what every university can teach and what every television station should broadcast" is closer to what the founding fathers were worried about when it comes to free speech than trigger warnings on syllabi.

MAGAs have their base so gaslit they're convinced that $59B to build concentration camps is a better use of their taxpayer dollars than $59B to end homelessness. That $50B for a vanity wall is better than $50B for child preK. That $150B in military contracts is better than $150B for healthcare. smh

ICE *already* can't meet their detainment numbers without rounding up children, veterans, people born in the U.S., people with no criminal records, people at immigration hearings, plus academics and visitors with valid visas.

So who do they plan to detain with >10x the budget?

The answer is: you.
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

Marco Rubio needs to be asked whether he believes his grandfather who remained in the U.S. after receiving a deportation order from our govt should have been treated the way the father of 3 Marines was treated by ICE this weekend in California.

ASK HIM. Make him confront his lack of character.
So video of this 2012 interview is popping up on other sites. Feels super relevant at the moment. Wait for the moment Rubio gets pinned to the wall about his grandfather’s deportation order…

A federal officer cannot be “doxxed.” The public has a right to know who is operating in our government, especially if they have the power to imprison someone.
Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons: "If you look before January 20, and even after January 20, the men & women of ICE did not have to have masks on their face. Me personally, I don't want those officers having to wear masks bc it's hot, it's dangerous. But ICE agents are being doxxed at a horrible rate"

The same people who claim they oppose fair taxation of the super wealthy because “no one is entitled to other people’s money” have no hesitation to wage a corrupt war for oil and power fought by other people’s children.

Their hoarding of wealth is more precious to them than us holding our children.

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:

1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long

All lies.

Here's an idea. Dem Governors & Mayors should be ordering their local law enforcement to arrest any & all unidentified and masked alleged ICE agents.

If a random guy in a mask grabbed someone and threw them in a vehicle, we'd call that a kidnapping.

Why not here?

We still have no idea who the ICE agents are. They could be insurrectionists, extremist militiamen or criminals themselves, chasing law-abiding citizens down the street for recording their kidnappings. The odds they aren't are low. Congress must raise hell about this. A masked gang runs our country.
