We marvel at the serenity of the forest, and crave the shroud of its silence.
The person behind Roadwarden and Windy Meadow. New game in the works.
The creature was running for its life and thinking very little about staying out of sight. The tracks are a bit close to our own footprints: long, with the front getting wider, though ended with claws. It doesn't resemble either a goblin, nor a dragonling.

XIX century's Wojciech Gerson was getting it.

I may never make peace with NORCO. All I have are my love letters to it.
The first time I played it I felt disinterested in what I perceived as the repetition of the anticapitalist media I used to consume at breadtube’y lengths. I was too angry at... many things. And couldn’t see the game clearly.

The wind runs through the valley, ramming into your cloaks. The blades of grass bow underneath the trampling rains. The scant flowers, either orange or purple, are growing darker.

The tracks take you toward the copse, where you witness the decay of a hefty boar. It must have run here a few seasons ago, but didn't escape getting its tusks cut out with knives and axes. The belly carries signs of wolf bites.

The path is overgrown, the roof is collapsing, yet the charred woods are anything but empty. Down the hill, a family of deer browses through the ash-covered saplings, while the arguing crows free the land of the nuts left by the flames.

Hi! Thanks for asking here. : )
I can't reply without spoilers, so you can use for measurements this spoiler-heavy collage: i.ibb.co/q3BJ0Rbn/the...
For comparison, the map from Baldur's Gate 1 was my base inspiration and it doesn't try being literal or detailed and therefore has greater freedom.

Walled off by the steep rocks you turn toward the frail fence and sit down on your cloaks, trampling the white flowers and shining grass. You try to loosen up as you take in the waving tree crowns, the breeze stroke by the sun, and the bleats of goats.

@razbuten.bsky.social Check out my Roadwarden if you're interested in seeing a modern take of an RPG with a time limit.
A controversial part of the game to be sure, but supports everything about its design.
Will use it again. ; )

Busy collecting landscapes for the descriptions

With the white and blue flowers blooming all over the valley, the warm walls of the inn invite you to get closer. They shine from the recent dews - if not replaced, they’ll continue to host more and larger bugs.
Your steps send a host of sparrows into disarray.

Too bad that Contra Spem Spero from ‪@dadzingo.bsky.social‬ isn’t doing too hot on Steam. It’s a very curious, oneiric experience, and while some of its UI and gameplay decisions are a bit misguided, its bravery deserves an applause, and is matched with stylistic, fancy visuals. #indiegame

Despite the broken fences, collapsed trees, and devoured apples, there’s peace. The monkeys follow your steps erratically but remain quiet, as if you have entered a tomb.

The outer walls are giving way to the detritus-craving vines. The crumbling building must have seen generations, as a watchtower, refuge, prison, or a granary. The huts are young, and while most of them stand empty, a child’s laughter breaks through their silence.

The ford lures you closer as your feet are craving the cold brush of water.
Still, better to avoid the coarse ferns - shaking off their spores takes you a good while.

For a few more days, my obscure #indiegame Visual Novel, Windy Meadow, is on 50% sale. A tale about the common folk living in a cozy village that sometimes feels too small for them.
I still love this tiny tribe with its many problems.

Back on the old platform, I used to run the #LettersToMoralAnxiety series with #indiedev thoughts. I may need to resume it.

Q: Designing stories, how do you keep notes and organize the event logic?

I'm not procrastinating, YOU are procrastinating. Cough cough.

I did my first metric century ride today (100 km on a bike, bragging much, proud much) and this sight made me more angry, than amused.

By the way, Jay
as I'm working on my next game, I wanted you to know that your article about the frictionless traveling in AC:Valhalla lives rent-free in my head as I'm designing new events, and I pay much closer attention to the wilderness' uninviting shapes.

Every now and then, I find a discarded Roadwarden design from the early days. This "leaf" border is so bad, yet I keep thinking "what if".
Also, the game is like 4 bucks or something on Steam atm, Summer sale and all.
